Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has summoned Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of BookMyShow’s parent company, Big Tree Entertainment, to investigate black marketing for the upcoming Coldplay concert tickets. According to reports on ANI, the company’s technical head has also been summoned in the case.

Advocate Amit Vyas has filed a complaint against Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of BookMyShow’s parent company, Big Tree Entertainment, and also the company’s technical head, alleging facilitating the black marketing of the Coldplay concert tickets. Both have been asked to present before the investigating officer on Saturday, September 28, to provide statements. The highly anticipated concert of the British band Coldplay is scheduled to be held from January 19 to 21, 2025, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Tickets for the Coldplay concert were originally priced at ₹2,500. However, according to Vyas, they were later resold by third parties and influencers for as much as ₹3 lakh. The advocate is seeking an FIR to be registered against the company based on fraud charges.
Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has already recorded Vyas’s statement and identified several brokers who were involved in the alleged ticket scalping, as per the report. The report also stated that further investigations are already underway and that more individuals may also be summoned.
