Netizens call out Naga Chaitanya for not naming Samantha in his lengthy statement against Konda Surekha

Naga Chaitanya recently posted against Telangana’s minister, Konda Surekha, but netizens trolled him for not naming Samantha in his post and using words like “former spouse.”

Telangana minister Konda Surekha created a stir surrounding the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu a couple of days ago, claiming their divorce was part of a political conspiracy. Since then, many celebrities in the Telugu film industry have come forward to voice their opposition to the remarks, condemning Konda Surekha’s statements on social media. Samantha Ruth Prabhu also gave her statement, and so did Naga Chaitanya. However, fans of Samantha are complaining about Naga Chaitanya’s statement, which doesn’t even include Samantha’s name.

On October 1, Konda Surekha claimed that her political rival KTR had “blackmailed” Samantha into divorcing Chaitanya. Samantha then issued a statement calling out Surekha not to draw her into political battles. Chaitanya also issued a statement the following day. He wrote on X, “The decision to divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults. However, there have been various baseless and completely ridiculous rumors on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family. Today, the claim made by Minister Konda Surekha garu is not only false, but it is also absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Women deserve to be supported and respected. Taking advantage of and exploiting the personal life decisions of celebrities for the sake of media headlines is shameful.”

Netizens aren’t happy with Naga Chaitanya’s statement referring to Samantha as a “former spouse.”

Since Chaitanya’s statement on the matter, netizens have reacted strongly to his reference to Samantha using words like “former spouse” and “earlier spouse.” One user wrote, “Kept using the words spouse… couldn’t once take her name.” Another wrote, “Man fumbled so bad, can’t even name her.” One more wrote, “So Samantha is Voldemort, she who must not be named.” Another commented, “‘Former spouse,’ ‘earlier spouse,’ anything but saying her actual name. Respect so deep that he threw her to the wolves who have shamed her in every possible way.”
