Founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal of Ola Electric says that Ola is now the world’s fourth-largest EV Company outside China.

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and Founder of Ola Electric, says, “We are now the world’s fourth largest EV Company outside of China.” On Thursday, Ola Electric Mobility launched a new series of motorcycles at the Ola Sankalp event, where the founder took to the stage and made tall claims.

Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal claims Ola has become the world’s fourth-largest EV Company.

At the recent Ola Sankalp event, Bhavish Aggarwal made tall claims about his company. He said it is now the world’s fourth-largest EV Company outside China in revenue and that Ola Electric is the world’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer. However, he also mentioned that these figures hold up only if one excludes the whole country of China.

What did the founder of Ola say?

Bhavish Aggarwal said, “I want to set a path for the future of Ola Electric. We need to look at the future. We are now a listed company. We are now the world’s fourth largest EV Company outside China.” He also called Ola Electric the world’s largest two-wheeler EV Company but forgot to mention the fine print visible in his accompanying presentation – “Excluding China.”

Bhavish Aggarwal receives backlash for these claims.

Since making these claims, Bhavish Aggarwal has received some flak for fudging numbers and faced much social media trolling. Several posts on social media platforms and on X show him on stage at the Ola Sankalp event, while the presentation in the background lists Ola Electric as the world’s fourth-largest EV Company by revenue. However, the fine print in the presentation clearly said, “excluding China.”

An X user commented, “To present Ola Electric as the 4th largest EV Company in the world by revenue and 5th largest EV Company in the world by market cap, they have *excluded China, which has the most number of EV Companies in the world’s top 10 by revenue or market cap.” Tesla Club India also roasted them for the numbers posting on X, “*Excluding China 🤣? Well Ola has done good stuff and good numbers & yes they are largest 2w EV Company in India, but what’s the need of this.”
