A suspect is held from Punjab, which makes it the 24th arrest in the high-profile murder case.
A 22-year-old suspect named Akashdeep Karajsingh Gill has now been arrested by Punjab’s Fazilka district. He is accused of providing logistic support in the shooting of the NCP leader Baba Siddique. On Saturday, Mumbai police arrested Gill from Punjab in connection with the murder of Baba Siddique, as reported by the PTI.
Another accused was arrested in the Baba Siddique murder case.
Akashdeep Karajsingh Gill, 22, was arrested by Punjab’s Fazilka district and was held by the Mumbai Crime Branch police on Saturday in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the northern state, making it the 24th arrest in the high-profile murder case of the NCP leader Baba Siddique, which happened in Bandra on October 12. An official was quoted as saying by PTI, “He provided logistic support in the shooting. He was held from Fazilka tehsil there. Gill is being brought to Mumbai on transit remand for further legal action.”

The Mumbai Crime Branch and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force, on November 10, arrested Shiv Kumar, the alleged main shooter from Nanpara in UP’s Bahraich district. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had claimed responsibility for the murder. As claimed by a senior STF official, a childhood friend of Shiv Kumar named Dharamraj had roped in Gautam to execute the murder, and one of his relatives was in the scrap business in Pune. He said Dharamraj’s relative, who was in touch with Shubham Lonkar, was directly in touch with Lawrence Bishnoi through Snapchat. He also noted that Lonkar had promised ₹10 lakh for the murder and provided firearms and a lodging facility in Mumbai to do recce of Baba Siddique.
The remaining were arrested for assisting Gautam in crossing the India-Nepal border and his safe stay in Nepal.
