In the no-handshake row, PCB shared a mute video of Andy Pycroft with team management; however, netizens bashed the team.
The no-handshake controversy should not fade away too soon. The latest development involves a muted video being shared by Pakistan, which shows Andy Pycroft with the team management. The PCB with this video claims that Andy Pycroft apologised to Pakistan captain Salman Agha.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shares a mute video claiming Pycroft apologised to Agha.
A mute video was released by the PCB, showing the captain of the Pakistan team, Salman Ali Agha, head coach Mike Hesson, and a PCB official having a conversation with match referee Andy Pycroft. It all stems back to the Group A match of the Asia Cup 2025 between India and Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai, where India defeated Pakistan. However, India skipper Suryakumar Yadav chose not to shake hands with the Pakistani team, which irked the Pakistani players and management. This led the Pakistan management to complain about Team India, saying that not shaking hands is against the spirit of the game. They even warned of boycotting the tournament if the match referee for the game, Andy Pycroft, wasn’t removed from their matches. The PAK vs UAE match was also delayed by an hour due to Pakistan’s unwillingness to play. The PCB immediately posted the video, claiming Pycroft apologised to Agha.
Video garners bashing from social media users.
Instead of being taken seriously, the mute video shared by PCB earned sarcastic comments and trolls from netizens. Most comments and trolls criticised the naivety of the PCB for suggesting they tried to leave by posting a ‘Muted’ video. One user wrote, “Video without audio is proof. Just Pakistani things.” Another asked, “Audio?” A third person commented, “No audio… This is how Pakistanis find way to make themselves happy.”
