PM Modi breaks silence on Jerusalem attack

PM Modi, on the recent Jerusalem attack, said, “India condemns terrorism in all its forms.”

On Monday, Prime Minister NarendraModicondemned the attack in Jerusalem. He also extended condolences to the families of the victims who were shot. PM Modi took to social media to express his grief and give condolences to the affected families.

Taking to X, PM Modi, on the recent attack in Jerusalem, wrote, “Strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on innocent civiliansin Jerusalem today. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.” He added that India condemns “terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.” The Prime Minister said that the country “stands firm in its policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.”

On Monday, in East Jerusalem, at least six people were killed and several others were injured in a shooting attack. The Israeli emergency service said that “terrorists” involved in the attack were neutralised. The incident happened in Ramot Junction on YigalYadin Street. The terrorists had boarded a bus and opened fire on the passengers. The shooting was carried out by two gunmen, as reported by Times of Israel, citing preliminary reports.

Footage from the incident showed several people fleeing from a bus stop at an intersection near the northern entrance to Jerusalem. The attack took place hours after Israel Katz, the Israeli defence minister, issued an ultimatum to Hamas, asking them to drop arms and surrender and warning they would be “annihilated” if they fail to do so.
