The BJP women’s wing announced that the party has selected 15,000 women volunteers who will wear vermillion-coloured sarees to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Bhopal event. PM Modi is scheduled to visit Bhopal on May 31 to mark the commemoration of the 300th birth anniversary of Lok Mata Ahilya Bai, the 18th-century ruler of the Malwa kingdom.

PM Modi will be welcomed by 15,000 women volunteers in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, in Sindoor (vermillion) coloured sarees as a symbolic gesture of gratitude for Operation Sindoor, which was India’s direct military response to Pakistan for the Pahalgam terror attack. PM Modi will be participating in a women’s conference in Bhopal to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lok Mata Ahilya Bai. The women come from 1,300 mandals to welcome the Prime Minister during the event.
Madhya Pradesh minister says the vermillion sarees are a tribute.
Madhya Pradesh Minister of State Krishna Gaur said, “The vermillion sarees are a tribute to PM Modi and our armed forces, who gave a befitting reply to the terrorism following the Pahalgam incident. The sarees will be provided by the party to the women.” The security arrangements at the helipad and venue, including traffic management, will be handled by women officers. Leading the security operations will be IPS Sonali Mishra.
A senior police officer said, “The women police personnel will accompany the security detail at the helipad and manage traffic, stage and crowd management. For the first time, 47 women officers will lead the VIP security.”
