Recently, President of India Droupadi Murmu addressed a joint session in the 18th Parliament and highlighted several things in her speech, including her appreciation of the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and much more.

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of the 18th Parliament on Thursday, June 27. During her speech, she praised the efforts made by the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stated that it is working toward making India the third-largest economy in the world.

Speaking about exam paper leaks.

The honorable President reiterated the government’s stance on the controversy surrounding exam paper leaks. She noted the cases of paper leaks and irregularities in exams. She said, “There is a need to rise above partisan politics,” highlighting that sanctity and transparency must be in government recruitments and examinations.

President Murmu calls the Emergency the darkest chapter.

She also spoke about the emergency period during the speech, calling it “the biggest and the darkest chapter of a direct attack on the Constitution.”

Wishing the best for those who got citizenship.

President Murmu also wished for the best future for the families who got citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Highest voter turnout.

President Droupadi Murmu congratulated the newly elected members of the 18th Lok Sabha and hailed the high voter turnout in the recent Lok Sabha elections. She noted that nearly 64 crore voters participated enthusiastically in the world’s largest election, and she noted the record voter turnout in Kashmir.

She praised the NDA government for its efforts and continued action plan for the Northeast region’s development, among many other works. Lastly, President Murmu also highlighted that India is preparing to host the 2036 Olympics.
