Vedang Raina recently praised Ranbir Kapoor’s lip-syncing in the films for songs, which inspired him for his song in Jigra.

Vedang Raina talks about Ranbir Kapoor in an interview.
Vedang Raina, who debuted in films with The Archies on the OTT platform Netflix, debuted on the silver screen with the film Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt, directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Alia and Karan Johar. Vedang sang the film’s title track and the rendition of Phoolon Ka Taaro Ka. In his interview with Lallantop, he revealed that while he had no issues singing the songs, he had to take inspiration from co-star Alia Bhatt’s husband and actor Ranbir Kapoor to act out the title track.
“I’ve always been his biggest fan.”
Vedang Raina shot for the title track of Jigra, which required him to lip-sync the song. He recalled that during his first film, The Archies when he was acting out songs, he was told his lips weren’t moving and realized that he needed to do better while lip-syncing songs. Talking about Ranbir, he said, “Ranbir ki jo lip-syncing hain… I’ve always been his biggest fan, and he does it brilliantly. I’ve always wanted to see the BTS (behind-the-scenes) of Rockstar to see if he could actually sing. I thought he must be a singer, kuch nahi (nothing)…it was negative. His real-life singing is really bad. It goes to show how good he is (at acting).”
Alia Bhatt went ahead and defended Ranbir, saying that it just shows how well he acted in the film. Vedang Raina added, “I tried to recreate his lip-sync. Obviously, it was an exaggerated version in the film, but I wanted to try matching his pitch.”
