During the PBKS hotel celebration after their win in the playoffs against MI, Shreyas Iyer was seen cutting a cake along with the ownership.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2025 playoffs, reaching the finals of the season, where they will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). For the first time in 11 years, PBKS are headed to the IPL finals, finishing top of the group stage and beating Mumbai Indians by five wickets in Qualifier 2 of the tournament. After their win in the playoffs, the team had a hotel celebration, where Shreyas Iyer, who scored 87*(41) and led PBKS to the win, was seen cutting the cake.

During the PBKS hotel celebration to mark reaching the finals, Shreyas Iyer was seen cutting a cake alongside the owner. After Wadia fed Iyer a bite of the cake to congratulate him for achieving yet another IPL final as captain, he also planted a kiss on his cheek. However, fans noticed that soon after that moment, a stony-faced Iyer picked up a napkin, wiped his face and made way.

Iyer looked focused during his innings against Mumbai. He hit eight sixes in his innings and barely celebrated after scoring the winning one. In the post-match interview, where he also received the Player of the Match award, he said, “As far as I see it, the job is only half-finished.” He also said he was ‘locked in’, placing a clean focus on going on to beat RCB in Ahmedabad in Tuesday’s final.
