During the 1st BAN Test, Gill shows no mercy to Siraj and reminds fans of an old Instagram clip of the Indian pacer.

Shubman Gill, during the 1st BAN test match, reminded fans of a viral clip posted by Mohammed Siraj many years back on his Instagram page. India maintained the top spot in the World Test Championship points table after scripting an emphatic win by 280 runs in the opening Test of the 2-match series against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. India folded visitors for 234 runs in the second innings after setting the target of 515 to wrap up the match with more than five sessions in hand.

Shubman Gill went viral for his century and his hilarious dig at teammate Siraj.

Shubman Gill, India’s no. 3 performed excellently in India’s win, having notched up a sensational century in the second innings while stitching a 167-run stand for the fourth wicket alongside Rishabh Pant. It was Gill’s 5th career hundred and third in 2024. However, besides his century, he also made headlines for taking a dig at his teammate Mohammad Siraj while getting ready to field at short leg. He said, “Mohammed Siraj Official, official ID hai, baki sab fake hai (MohammedSirajofficial is the official (Instagram) ID, everything else is fake).”

Gill’s remark on Siraj reminds fans of the viral clip of Siraj from years ago.

As soon as he took this hilarious dig on Siraj, fans were reminded of the viral clip of Siraj, which he posted many years back on his Instagram page, warning his followers about the increasing number of fake accounts created on the platform using his name. Reacting to Gill’s remark, one fan wrote, “naaah, you didn’t say this Gill. Md Siraj official ID hai, baki sab fake hai (laughing emojis)”

India will gear up for the 2nd and final Bangladesh Test match of the series, beginning on Friday in Kanpur’s Green Park Stadium.
