A recent Surat building collapse has shaken everyone. The eight-year-old building at Sachin Pali village in Gujarat’s Surat collapsed due to several days of incessant rains. It was already in a dilapidated state, with several rented apartments housing many textile workers and their families.

The building, which was already dilapidated, housed several textile workers and their families. The incident occurred at around 3 pm, and the injured were rushed to a hospital.

Reportedly, the incident has led to the injury of fifteen people, and at least four are feared trapped after the six-storey building collapsed. Rajesh Parmar, DCP Zone 6, Surat, said no casualties have been reported so far, stating, “One woman was rescued alive from the debris, while four to five others are still feared trapped inside.”

Efforts are ongoing as the Fire officials, along with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, continue to work on clearing the debris and rescuing people who have been trapped.
