A heartbreaking incident where a 19-year-old lost their life after consuming shawarma from a roadside vendor. Authorities have taken action by arresting the vendors involved.

A 19-year-old man dies after consuming shawarma from a roadside vendor in Mumbai. The police said the chicken had been spoilt due to which the boy suffered severe stomachache and eventually died. Two vendors have been arrested for serving spoilt chicken that led to death.
According to Officials, 19-year-old Bhokse ate contaminated Shawarma

According to officials of Trombay police, Mahahrashtra nagar residents Prathamesh Bhokse(19) and his uncle Hameed Abbas Syed (40) consumed shawarma at a food stall run by Anand Kamble and Mohammad Shaikh on 3 May.
The next day Prathmesh had a severe stomach ache and vomiting and was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. He felt better there and was discharged. However, on May 5, he had diarrhea and was taken to KEM Hospital , Parel where a duty doctor treated him and sent him back home.
On Monday morning, he developed weakness and was taken to KEM again where he was admitted and died during treatment.
“We tried to resuscitate him but he died on Tuesday.” said a doctor from the hospital.
Not the only incident in 30 days

This is not the only incident in last few weeks. During the last week of April, 12 people were hospitalized with food poisoning after consuming chicken shawarma from roadside vendor in Goregaon.
Based on his uncle’s statement and hospital reports, police arrested the shop owners and registered an FIR against them for serving spoilt chicken shawarma.

Consuming roadside chicken during summer poses significant health risks ,.including food poisoning and even fatal outcomes. The combination of high temperature and unregulated food handling increases the likelihood of bacterial contamination leading to gastrointestinal illnesses.” Said KEM doctor on condition of anonymity.
