CISF officer gives CPR to passenger at Delhi airport.

At Delhi’s IGI airport, a CISF officer’s swift action proved lifesaving for a passenger who collapsed inside the terminal, but the incident has triggered mixed reactions online. A video of the same incident has now gone viral on the internet, showing the officer staying with the passenger and offering him water as he sat on the floor. Moments later, when the passenger lost consciousness, the officer immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He continued until the airport medical team reached him, after which the passenger was stabilized. According to a post on X shared by the CISF, the man was identified as Mohammad MokhtarAlam, who was headed to Gaya. “On 1st Sept, a passenger bound for Gaya collapsed near the security check area. #CISF SI/Exe Virendra Singh administered CPR until medical help arrived. Passenger was stabilized and safely shifted to hospital,” the caption of the post read.

Netizens react to the viral video.

One user wrote, “This must be taught in schools, not just once but periodically. This lifesaving technique might save many lives as such cases are rising day by day!” Another reacted, “Well done Virendra Singh, I would say timely action prevents bigger problems.” A third user wrote, “Water should not be provided to person who is undergoing heart attack.” One more commented, “This is not correct. Don’t propagate this video and effort. Need to understand when CPR is given. CISF SI/Exe Virendra Singh did not even check if pulse is there or not. You cannot start CPR on any collapse, it could be due to anxiety and lower of blood sugar.”
