A disturbing video has been widely circulated on social media, showing a rat jumping out of a golgappa mixture at a panipuri stall in Amritsar, Punjab. The video has sparked widespread outrage among netizens. While a few called it AI-generated, the influencer who shared the video claimed it was a 100% real incident.

The video, which has since gone viral, was shared on Instagram by influencer Karanbir Singh. The post was captioned, “Rat in PaniPuri.” Many users saw the video and dismissed it, claiming it was AI-generated. Some even flooded the comment section with “AI.” However, after the incident, Karanbir Singh revealed the truth behind the viral clip. Speaking to a leading portal, Singh said that the video is 100 per cent original. He went on to dismiss claims of the clip being AI-generated. He recalled that he visited the panipuri (golgappa) stall with his challenger, whose name he didn’t reveal. The duo visited the street stall as part of a bet in which the creator promised to pay ₹50 for every panipuri his friend ate. Narrating the rodent incident, he said the rat appeared midway through the challenge, jumped out of the spiced water, and ran off.

Karanbir Singh revealed the action they took after spotting a rat in the panipuri water. He said, “I forced him to throw the water, and he threw.” He clarified that no other customers were present at the time of the incident, saying, “There was no one else except my challenger for that video and me.” Despite the rodent incident, Singh and his friend continued their food challenge at another stall. The video shared shows the challenger consuming 31 golgappas and winning a prize of ₹2,100.
