Pakistani musicians’ outdoor performance in the mountains attracts a flock of goats.

Playing the song KalHo Na Ho on the rubab in the mountains, the Pakistani musician attracted an unexpected audience, a flock of sheep. They gathered slowly around him as he played the song on his rubab in a now-viral video. The video clip was posted by musician Sagar Hayat, who documented a peaceful moment while recording a musical performance outdoors. In the video, Hayat was seen sitting on a rock in the middle of a rugged, mountainous landscape, playing the rubab, a traditional string instrument. Snow-dusted hills rise in the background while a small flock of sheep grazes nearby.

More on the magical performance by the Pakistani musician on a Bollywood song.

As the musician began playing the instrument, the flock of sheep initially scattered across the hillside and slowly started moving closer to him. Within moments, they gathered around the musician and stood quietly nearby as he continued to play the melody. Instead of wandering away, the animals remained calm and still, almost appearing to listen as Hayat strums the instrument. Hayat wrote that he had been surrounded by the sheep while filming the performance: “While recording this musical piece, I was surrounded by a peaceful landscape and a small flock of sheep grazing nearby.” He added, “As soon as I began playing the rubab, something truly heartwarming happened – the sheep slowly gathered around me and stood quietly, as if they were listening to the melody. It was a beautiful and unexpected moment that reminded me of the true power of music. Even without words, the gentle sound of the rubab created a connection beyond language. Indeed, music is truly a universal language — one that can touch not only human hearts, but the natural world as well.”

Netizens react to the viral video.

One user reacted, “So serene, even nature became the audience.” Another expressed, “You are living my dream, boy, this is truly beautiful.” A third person wrote, “This tune is blessed for mountain side😍.” Many others commented with heart and clapping emojis.

The rubab is a traditional string instrument widely associated with Central and South Asian music, particularly in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of northern India. Often carved from a single piece of wood, it features a short neck, a hollow body covered with animal skin, and several strings that are plucked to produce a deep, warm sound. It is also sometimes referred to as the “lion of instruments” in Afghan music and is known for its rich tone. It is commonly used in classical, folk, and devotional performances.
