A video recently went viral on the internet involving passengers slamming IndiGo Airlines for their “unprofessional behaviour.” The passengers on an IndiGo flight were locked in the aircraft for at least five hours, which provoked passengers who demanded the flight be cancelled.

The viral video, which has now been widely spread across social media platforms, showcases passengers demanding the cancellation of the flight as they were locked in the aircraft for at least five hours. The incident took place on a Chennai-bound flight from Kolkata early this month.

In another IndiGo flight delay incident, a Kolkata-based passenger slammed the airline over the “unprofessional behaviour” of the crew members while handling a flight that was delayed for five hours. Sharing a video on LinkedIn, Rhitam Bhattacharjee shared details of the incident. The viral video shows two flight attendants managing angry passengers demanding an update. Several passengers requested the flight cancellation as they were locked inside the aircraft for at least five hours. Expressing disappointment, Bhattacharjee called the incident “appalling” and accused the crew members of unprofessional behaviour. He wrote, “To add insult to injury, the compensation offered was a paltry packet of chips and a single piece of cookie. Passengers were forced to sit inside the aircraft for the entire 5-hour delay, which is unacceptable. Furthermore, both flights’ customer attendants and air hostesses displayed unprofessional behaviour. Specifically, the attendees named Eram and team on the return flight were extremely uncooperative and rude.” He demanded immediate action to resolve the matter.

IndiGo reacted to the viral post.

IndiGo argued that the crew member provided refreshments and water as compensation. The airline responded, “We understand the inconvenience caused by the flight delay due to adverse weather conditions in Kolkata. As part of our efforts to keep everyone informed, travel advisories were shared, and notifications were sent to the registered contact number. Our crew also ensured that refreshments were provided and water was served multiple times during the wait.”

Several users slammed the airlines for such frequent incidents with one commenting, “It has been lately the case with Indigo Airlines, The services have been degraded to a level that it has been the last choice for us to Travel.”
