Earlier this year, Virat Kohli gifted a bat to Rinku Singh, who later faced Kohli’s wrath after it was known that Singh had broken his bat.

Fans are now worried for Rinku Singh as Virat Kohli has gifted his bat to India fast bowler Akash Deep, which is seen as a “great gesture.” The picture has now also gone viral on social media. Earlier this year, before the start of the 2024 IPL season, King Kohli also gifted a bat to Rinku Singh, who later had to face Kohli’s wrath as Singh broke the bat he had gifted him.

On Monday, Virat Kohli gifted India fast bowler Akash Deep his signed bat, receiving which the young bowler was on cloud nine. Ahead of the start of the two-match Test series at home against Bangladesh, Akash Deep, who is currently training with the team in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium along with Kohli, was gifted King Kohli’s signed bat. He posted a picture of the bat on his Instagram story and captioned it, “Thank You Bhaiya.” However, his post left fans worried about Indian batter Rinku Singh, who had broken a bat gifted to him earlier in the year by Virat Kohli.

What happened between Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh?

On May 29, Virat Kohli handed one of his bats to Rinku Singh when Royal Challenges Bengaluru (RCB) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Chinnaswamy. Rinku joyfully posted a picture of the same, and it went viral. However, three weeks later, when KKR hosted RCB at the Eden Gardens, Rinku went to Kohli with the same request on the sidelines of their practice session in Kolkata. Still, the India star found himself amid an uncomfortable chat with the former Bengaluru captain, who was left fuming when told that the previous bat broke. But, a week later, Kohli eventually handed over a second bat to Singh.
