He arrived to a rousing reception by the Kanpur hotel and a huge gathering of people. Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and coach Gautam Gambhir reached the city that will host the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh, which starts on Friday, September 27.

King Kohli was welcomed with much joy and excitement by fans and a sea of people who waited desperately for his arrival at the Kanpur Hotel for the second test match against Bangladesh, starting this Friday. A tilak was applied on his forehead and he was greeted with presents, a bouquet, and a ‘rudraksh’.

However, Kohli, who is otherwise known for never refusing fans’ requests for selfies and photographs, was seen refusing a handshake with hotel staff at Kanpur on this particular occasion because the entire welcome got too overwhelming. Hence, when the hotel authority presumably reached out to him for a handshake, Kohli, who in one hand carried a bag and a bouquet in another hand, was forced to turn down his request. Virat Kohli said, “Sir, do hi haath hai” (I got only two hands).” However, he did make it up with a pleasant “Thank You.”
