Google is testing an AI feature for custom radio stations in YouTube music. It’s in limited testing and may require a YouTube Premium version.
Many new features keep rolling out on varied social media platforms, and YouTube Music is no different. According to the latest reports, YouTube Music is testing new ways to create AI-optimized playlists. Google is reportedly testing a new AI-powered feature for YouTube Music. With this new feature, users will be able to create custom radio stations describing what they want to hear.
A new AI-powered feature for YouTube Music.
A Reddit user, kater_pro, has discovered a new feature, which appears to be in a limited testing phase, as reported by 9to5Google. It says that a new AI-powered feature will be available for YouTube Music, where users can create custom radio stations describing what they wish to listen to.
Only available for a few testers.
It was also reported that the feature is currently available only for a few testers, and it was not confirmed whether users may need a YouTube Premium version to access it.
How will the new feature work for YouTube Music?
The screenshot-filled post on Reddit says that once this feature goes live for users, an “Ask for music any way you like” card will appear in the app’s Home Feed. The card will appear in pink or purple and work similarly to the existing “Create a radio: Your music tuner” card, which has gained a permanent place inside the Library tab inside New FAB, introduced earlier this year.
Creating custom radio stations.
Users can create custom radio stations based on their preferences and moods. Tapping the card labeled “Ask for music any way you like” will open a chat interface. Users can find a text box where they can type their request or use voice commands to tell the app what kind of music they wish to listen to.
The station’s name will be the same as their prompt and will be labeled “Created for you” with a short description.
