A class 10 student has died by allegedly suicide from the third floor of a government school building during morning assembly in Bidar district, police said on Thursday. They added that they suspect it is a case of suicide. According to the police, the student fell from the Government AdarshaVidyalaya building in Bhemalkhed village of Chitaguppa taluk, while other students were gathered for morning prayer on Wednesday.

On March 11, a 16-year-old class 10 student at a government school in Bidar’sBhemalkheda village died after falling from the third floor of the school building during the morning assembly. This has shaken students, parents, school staffers, and everyone else in the state. However, police have also informed that the girl’s father has alleged she was facing harassment from a classmate, which eventually led the girl to take the extreme step of taking her own life. Police now say they are investigating the matter as a suspected suicide. Sub-inspector SavitaPriyanka in the case said, “The student suffered severe injuries in the fall and was rushed to Bidar for advanced medical care, but she later died during treatment.”

Police said that a case has been registered at the Bemalakheda police station and an investigation is underway.
