The navy staffer, already married, killed his lover after a fight between the two.

In a shocking incident, a married Navy staffer in Andhra Pradesh killed his lover, chopped her body into pieces and stored them in a fridge. ChintadaRavindra, a Navy Officer, was posted on the Indian Naval Ship Dega; he matched with PolipalliMounika on a dating app in 2021.

A married Navy Officer brutally murdered his lover in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused ChintadaRavindra’s wife had gone to her parents’ home. Looking at the opportunity, he called his lover PolipalliMounika to his residence in Andhra Pradesh’s Vishakhapatnam. The meeting, however, turned out to be a death invite for Mounika. A fight broke out between the two and ended with Mounika being killed and chopped into several pieces. Ravindra, 30, matched with Mounika, 31, on a dating app ‘Mingle’ in 2021. The two would frequently meet at various locations across Vishakhapatnam, such as parks and theatres, said police. Gradually, they developed a romantic relationship. A couple of weeks ago, Ravindra’s wife went to her parents’ house in Vizianagaram. Sensing it was the best time to spend quality time with his lover, Ravindra, on Sunday afternoon, he decided to call Mounika over.

How did Ravindra murder Mounika at his residence?

By evening, a fight reportedly broke out between the two, and Ravindra allegedly suffocated Mounika to death. He then allegedly bought a knife from an online delivery platform and cut the body into pieces. According to the initial investigation, Ravindra separated the head, legs, and hands from the torso. He packed legs and hips in a trolley bag, stored the torso in the refrigerator, and transported the head and hands to a different location, where he allegedly burned them. He then walked to the police station and confessed to the crime. He even claimed that Mounika had taken ₹3.5 lakh from him during the course of their relationship and would also threaten to reveal their relationship to his wife. This was the reason behind the frequent disputes between the two, including the one on the day Mounika was killed, the official said.

The investigation revealed that Ravindra had planned the murder ever since he married another woman in 2024, as he was tired of Mounika’s constant threats and harassment.
