These five powerful meditation techniques can help cool the mind in this humid weather and also eventually transform life.

The humid weather may not just affect the body but also the mind. Individuals, apart from feeling dehydrated in the summer, can also complain of headaches and low energy, which can even affect the mind. This is when mindful choices, like meditation, act as a key to addressing this issue.

Below are the top five powerful meditation techniques that can calm the mind in the hot summer:

Breathing with awareness: Breathing is something we do every moment, yet we rarely pay attention to it. Spiritually, breath is not just air, but prana or life energy. By simply becoming aware of the breath, one can return to one’s natural rhythm. It is thus essential to inhale deeply so the stomach expands, and exhale fully. This improves oxygen intake, strengthen lung capacity, and increase the flow of pranic energy in the body.

Meditating at holy places: Sacred or holy places are said to have a strong presence of divine energy. Spending quality time at such places can help one recharge. Doing this regularly can strengthen one’s spiritual connection and improve how they think, feel, and respond to life.

Chakra meditation: This requires at least 15-30 minutes of daily practice to experience real benefits. Sitting quietly with eyes closed helps in conserving energy. In Kundalini Yoga, this stored energy is used to awaken the dormant Kundalini Shakti at the base of the spine, which can be guided through different chakras, each associated with specific physical and emotional functions.

Reliving divine moments: Every individual has experiences that make them feel peaceful, deeply connected, or spiritually uplifted, and these moments carry a powerful emotional imprint. When one feels low, one can revisit these experiences in one’s mind and sense the peace around them.

Divine energy transfusion: When visiting spiritual places like temples or shrines, instead of just offering prayers and leaving, one can try sitting there quietly. They can place their hands on a sacred object, such as an idol or a tree, and feel the subtle flow of energy enter their body.

Whether one begins with mindful breathing or practising Chakra meditation, what is crucial is to show up every day. These small but powerful techniques can make one feel more balanced, aware, and connected.
