Shopping in Delhi’s bustling markets is a mix of excitement and exhaustion. From balancing multiple bags to navigating crowded lanes, the experience often leaves shoppers drained. Recognizing this everyday struggle, a Delhi-based startup, CarryMen, has introduced a unique service that allows customers to hire assistants to carry their shopping bags and ease the chaos of market visits.

Currently operating in Lajpat Nagar Market, CarryMen provides trained helpers for ₹149 per hour, with packages extending up to 4 hours. These assistants accompany shoppers through the market, carrying bags, waiting in food queues, guiding them to parking areas or metro stations, and even helping locate places to rest. The service is designed to let customers enjoy shopping without the physical burden of managing multiple bags.

The concept was born from the founders’ personal experiences of crowded shopping trips with family. They realized that while people love the thrill of bargain hunting, the physical strain often overshadows the fun. CarryMen aims to restore that joy by offering practical support. Beyond bag-carrying, the startup has added thoughtful touches such as portable camping chairs, umbrellas, hydration assistance, and even mobile charging support. For parents, stroller rentals are available, making shopping with toddlers less overwhelming.

The service has found particular appeal among elderly shoppers and pregnant women, who often struggle with the physical demands of crowded markets. Many customers appreciate the comfort of having someone to assist with small but essential tasks, from carrying household items to helping order food. In its first month since launching in April, CarryMen has already completed over 50 bookings, largely driven by word-of-mouth and organic social media buzz.

While the startup addresses the logistical challenges of shopping, it acknowledges that the emotional value of shared experiences with loved ones—like a father carrying bags or a husband waiting outside trial rooms—remains irreplaceable. CarryMen doesn’t aim to replace those moments but rather to make shopping more comfortable, preserving the joy of exploring Delhi’s iconic markets without the stress of heavy loads.
