Fitness is a must from childhood, youth, and old age. Each age group demands fitness suited to age-related changes in the body. Old age is the time when people lose their strength, mobility, and confidence to do what they desire. This requires proper guidance to maintain their health and fitness. Right from the age of 60, people start facing an endless stream of health issues and get worse in their 70s.  

To stay active and fit in old age, fitness coach Joshua Tan has revealed how he encouraged his 63-year-old mother to exercise consistently. He also shared the top three exercises designed to help ageing parents maintain their physical independence. The coach shares these exercise reels on Instagram to encourage other older adults to exercise regularly and to show how important it is.

There are some major exercises that all adults should do in their 60s. According to the coach, these three exercises help older people manage their routine, along with lifting weights.

Three Functional Exercises All Parents in Their 60s Should Do. The coach also described “that the exercises also support long-term mobility and reduce the risk of serious health issues, and if your parents are in their 60s, these are the three exercises they should be doing so they can endure being self-determining in their 70s. My mom is 63, and this is what I’ve been getting her to do.

Squats: The coach said that squats are the best way to get up from bed pain-free.

Deadlifts: He explained that deadlifts are important so that the back does not ache when parents can pick up things hassle-free.

Calf Raises: Finally, calf raises help older adults improve their balance, reducing the risk of dangerous falls.
