Actor Salman Khan has stepped into the ongoing student-led protests against exam paper leaks, urging activist Sonam Wangchuk to end his hunger strike that began on June 28. In a heartfelt online post, Khan addressed Wangchuk directly, saying, “Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this… eat something. If you want, I will send you food from home.” His message combined empathy with reassurance, highlighting the prime minister’s assurance of strict action against those responsible for the leaks.

Khan emphasized that students remain the nation’s top priority and should not prolong their protest at the cost of their health or their families’ peace of mind. He encouraged them to return home, stressing that reforms are already being promised at the highest level.

The actor’s intervention follows his earlier support for the demonstrations, where he praised students for their peaceful and courageous stand while cautioning against political exploitation of their cause. “This issue is between the students and the educational system. It should not be hijacked politically. The credit belongs to the youth, and I am sure the government will strengthen the system,” he wrote.

Wangchuk, known for his pioneering work in education in Ladakh, has been fasting to demand accountability and systemic reforms. His protest has drawn widespread attention, with several prominent voices in cinema and culture rallying behind the students.

Kareena Kapoor recently shared her solidarity, noting that children lose faith in education when merit and honesty are undermined. “No child should have to wonder if their effort will be enough. They deserve a system they can trust,” she said. South Indian superstar Mammootty echoed similar sentiments, calling the youth “the true treasure of our nation” and urging leaders to listen and empower them.

Other celebrities including Naseeruddin Shah, Zeenat Aman, Ratna Pathak Shah, Abhay Deol, Sonakshi Sinha, and Riteish Deshmukh have also voiced support, amplifying the students’ demand for fairness and transparency.
