India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day today, January 26th; Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the nation.

Honourable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, extended greetings to the nation, celebrating the 76th Republic Day. Wishing to strengthen efforts to preserve the ideals of the Constitution and work towards a prosperous India, PM Modi extended greetings on Sunday on the special day.

Sharing his greetings for the nation on X, PM Modi posted, “Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a Republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India.”

India marks 76th Republic Day at Kartavya Path.

India celebrates the 76th Republic Day at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The national capital saw a six-layered security protocol as many political leaders were designated to attend the R-Day parade at Kartavya Path. Many leaders attending the event included Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who was also the Chief Guest at the event, among others. PM Modi was seen welcoming the Indonesian President with a hug as the latter arrived in a buggy. President Droupadi Murmu also made her presence felt.

Republic Day key points.

President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in celebrating the 76th Republic Day from Kartavya Path, New Delhi. It began with showcasing India’s cultural diversity and military prowess through tableaux and marching contingents. The R-Day Parade ceremony commenced with PM Modi’s Sunday morning visit to the National War Memorial. The parade began with President Murmu taking the salute. The R-Day was heralded by 300 cultural artists playing “Saare Jahaan Se Achha” with musical instruments from different parts of the country.

The Republic Day concluded with a “fly-past,” enthralling the audience with a breathtaking air show by 40 aircraft/helicopters. The ceremony culminated with the national anthem and the release of balloons carrying banners with the official logo depicting 75 years of enactment of the Constitution in both English and Hindi.
