Actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin was stabbed to death in Delhi

Actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, was stabbed to death over a parking issue. The incident happened in Delhi’s Nizamuddin. Two people are already arrested in the case thus far. Huma’s cousin was reportedly attacked with sharp weapons during the argument and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

The victim, 42, was allegedly murdered on Thursday night following a dispute over a parking space, said reports. Delhi police have arrested two men in connection with the murder, reported PTI.

What happened with Asif Qureshi?

Around 10 pm on Thursday, Asif asked a man not to park a 2-wheeler in front of the main entrance of his home, said the report citing police. The dispute quickly escalated after which Asif was attacked with a sharp ‘poker-type’ weapon. During the attack, he sustained serious injuries to his chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The two arrested in the case have been identified as Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18). Both lived just a few metres away from Asif’s residence, said the police.

Asif Qureshi ran a chicken business in Delhi and is survived by his two wives. Shaheen, one of Asif’s wives, describing what happened, said, “At around 9:30-10 pm, a neighbour parked a scooter right outside our house…My husband, Asif, requested him to move the vehicle away. The man abused Asif and threatened to come back,” as per an NDTV report. She added, “Within minutes, the man, along with his brother, came and stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon. I called Javed, my brother-in-law, but by the time he reached, Asif had lost a lot of blood and died.”

Describing the incident, Huma Qureshi’s father and Asif’s uncle, Saleem Qureshi, said, “Two men parked a scooter in front of the house. Asif asked them to move it aside and not block the entrance. This led to a verbal altercation that turned physical. They were two; together, they killed my nephew.”
