Alka Yagnik, a renowned singer, has sung countless songs in numerous languages. I was recently honoured with the Padma Bhushan Award. The singer seemed a bit unwell and was in a wheelchair. This raised concern from her millions of fans.

The singer received a prestigious Padma Bhushan award from President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on June 23, for her decades-long contribution to the craft of music and for delivering blockbuster songs with her mesmerizing voice.  

A viral video showing veteran singer Alka Yagnik being assisted in a wheelchair after the Padma Bhushan ceremony left many fans worried about the singer’s health. The 60-year-old singer has now addressed the speculation, assuring sympathizers that she is well on the road to recovery and that the wheelchair was needed only because she felt exhausted after a long day.

In light of the love and support from her fans, the singer stated on Thursday, thanking them for their concern and clarifying the circumstances surrounding the video.

Alka Yagnik spoke about concern after a wheelchair video from the Padma ceremony went viral. She said she was exhausted after the event and is well on the road to recovery.

The singer wrote a thank-you note for all her fans, addressing, “Thank you for your love, concern and innumerable good wishes. I have seen the concern about a video from the ceremony, and would like to assure everyone that I am well and making good progress in my recovery. After a long and memorable day at the Padma felicitation, I was merely fatigued and requested a wheelchair during the sendoff.”

Numerous fans expressed concern and sent good wishes for her speedy recovery after viewing the clip.
