Hamare Baarah will be released on big screens on June 21st, 2024.

It was initially reported that the film “Hamare Baarah,” starring Annu Kapoor, was set to release on June 7th and then postponed to June 14th. However, as per the latest update, it will now be released on June 21st, 2024.

The film was in court for an alleged objectionable story.

Hamare Baarah was reportedly prohibited from release because its alleged storyline created controversy. However, on June 19th, the Bombay High Court ruled out anything objectionable in the movie, giving it a new release date.

What was the controversy about?

Hamare Baarah faced legal challenges and, hence, delays in its release because petitions were made alleging Quran distortion and derogatory content towards Islam, women, and the Muslim community.

The film has now been reviewed and given a green signal.

A bench of Justices BP Colabawalla and Firdosh Pooniwalla reviewed the film. It concluded that nothing was objectionable in it that could incite violence or be disrespectful to the Quran or the Muslim community, mentioning that the Indian public is discerning and not easily misled.

Specific modifications are recommended.

The court recommended specific modifications, which were mutually accepted by both filmmakers and the petitioners. Additionally, the court recommended filmmakers include two 12-second disclaimers in the film and remove certain dialogues and scenes from the trailer. The court also fined the film’s producers Rs. 5 lakh for releasing the trailer without prior CBFC certification.

The court highlighted that the film Hamara Baarah promotes women’s upliftment. The film also stars Manoj Joshi, Parth Samthan, and Rahul Bagga in crucial roles.
