Another bridge collapsed.

On Thursday, another bridge in the Kishanganj district collapsed. It was a 70-meter-long and 12-meter-wide bridge in Bahadurganj, which collapsed due to heavy rainfall. This resulted in a sudden rise in water levels, which caused one of its pillars to fail. Speaking on the same, Tushar Singla, District Magistrate, said, “It was built in 2011 over Madiya, a small tributary that connects the Kankai River to the Mahananda. Heavy rainfall in the catchment area in Nepal has led to a sudden rise in the water level. One of the pillars of the bridge could not withstand the strong current.” No injuries were reported.

Similar bridge collapses.

Four similar bridge collapses happened last week in Siwan, Araria, Kishanganj, and East Champaran.
