The neighbour shamed the ‘bahu’ for wearing jeans, but her MIL shut her down with a witty reply; netizens react.
A video has recently been trending on social media, showing a daughter-in-law being shamed by a neighbour for wearing jeans. But her mother-in-law (MIL) shut down the neighbour with a witty reply that has now caught much attention on the internet.
MIL has the perfect witty reply for the neighbour shaming her bahu for wearing jeans.
When a neighbour asked if she “allows” her bahu to wear jeans, the mother-in-law gave the perfect witty reply. An Instagram creator shared a video that has now gone viral, highlighting the supportive bond she shares with her mother-in-law. The clip shows how her MIL shut down a nosy neighbour who questioned why her bahu was “allowed” to wear jeans. She replied as Jyoti told in the video, “Nahi who khudpehenletihai” (No, she wears it herself). Jyoti, who often shares “saas-bahu moments” on Instagram, wrote, “Some people think a daughter-in-law needs permission for everything. Meanwhile, in my house… I’m just living my life and wearing what I like.” She continued, “Funny how people still think someone has to ‘allow’ a woman to wear what she wants. The truth is simple — when there is trust and understanding in a family, even the smallest things never become an issue. Freedom in little choices makes relationships so much lighter.” The video had a text insert, which read, “ads, “Eksaasaisibhi.”
