Nirmala Sitharaman said that the urgent need for attaining the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047 is that NCR should have a government that serves the cause of its people. She said the government in Delhi should prioritise human development.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hailed the results of the Delhi assembly elections on Saturday and emphasised that it is important to have a government in the national capital that truly serves its people. Speaking on the same, she said, “… happy to know that because under Prime Minister Modi’sleadership, we are very keen that Delhi gets a government which serves its people.”
A government that serves the cause of its people is the need of the hour, said Sitharaman.
Nirmala Sitharaman further emphasised that India’s National Capital Region should have a government that serves the cause of its people. This is the need of the hour, she says, for attaining the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. Expressing her satisfaction with the current political direction, she said, “We are very keen that Delhi gets a government which serves its people under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.” After addressing the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India, she spoke with reporters.
Sitharaman further underscored that the PM’s roadmap for India places Delhi at the forefront. She stressed that the city must prioritise human development and improvements in schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and healthcare for its residents.
