Don 3 back on track: Ranveer Singh begins prep for the Farhan Akhtar film

After Dhurandhar’s massive box-office success, Ranveer Singh has begun prep for Don 3, and the schedule will commence early next year.

Ranveer Singh is currently riding high on success after his latest film, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, broke multiple records and grossed massively worldwide. Now, according to reports, the actor has already begun prep for Don 3, which will be directed by Farhan Akhtar.

Reports suggest that Don 3 is all set to roll with Ranveer Singh in early 2026. After many delays, casting changes, and months of speculation, the film will be on the floors early next year. In August 2023, the 3rd instalment of Don, an action thriller film by Farhan Akhtar, was announced, followed by a teaser confirming Ranveer Singh as the new Don, stepping into the shoes of Shah Rukh Khan.

Don 3 was initially expected to go on floors in January 2025, but Farhan Akhtar, who will be directing the film, had prior commitments, reportedly delaying the schedule and the project. Speculations about the film intensified further after Vikrant Massey reportedly exited as the film’s antagonist, leading many to believe that Don 3 might have been shelved. However, a source speaking to News18 has now confirmed that the film is very much happening, and Ranveer has already begun his action prep. A source told the outlet, “Now that Ranveer is back in the game, the production doesn’t want to wait anymore. After some scheduling conflicts and logistical back-and-forth, Don 3 is back on track.Ranveer will be seen doing some heavy-duty action sequences, and he started prepping for the same last week.”

The 1st schedule of the film is expected to kick off between late January and early February next year. The source added, “Ranveer is fresh off the success of Dhurandhar. KritiSanon, on the other hand, dished out a big hit like TereIshq Mein. Don 3 serves as the perfect next step for this duo. Some portions of the film’s first schedule will be shot in Jeddah. Kriti, much like Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Roma, will be seen engaging in some action sequences as well.”
