Get the latest scoop on Esha Deol’s response to Ameesha Patel’s statement about her movies being ‘snatched’ away. Find out what she had to say about the controversy.
Esha Deol started acting in the early 2000s with famous actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Ameesha Patel, and Priyanka Chopra. She was surprised when Ameesha said that Kareena and Esha ‘snatched’ roles from her. In an interview with India Today, Esha said she didn’t agree with Ameesha’s claim.

Esha’s Reply Over Ameesha’s Remark
Reacting to Ameesha’s remark, Esha said, “Did she? My thoughts are very different. I think we were all very busy with our own lot of what we were given. I’ve had some wonderful friendships with the girls back then, and I think no one snatched anyone’s role to my knowledge.”
She added, “Everyone was very busy and happy working in their own zone. Everyone was very friendly, all the girls, even the men very friendly, very warm, it was really nice… “I think we were all doing so much work and had so much to do. It is not that any one of us was sitting without work.”
“…contemporaries couldn’t handle my success.”
In an interview given in 2023, Ameesha claimed that her contemporaries like Kareena Kapoor, Esha Deol couldn’t handle her success. She said in an interview, “When I entered the film industry, I only had film actors’ kids or producers’ kids enter with me, it was Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Tushar Kapoor, Esha Deol, Fardeen Khan, you name it, you turn your head and it was a film family third generation person coming in.”

She added, “I was the outsider and I was anyway this south Bombay (girl) looked upon as a snob because I was the educated outsider. I was the one who did not b**** on sets, I read books, I did not gossip, so I was anyway called a snob because I chose to read.”
Ameesha And Esha’s Work Front
Talking about Ameesha’s work front, she made a comeback with Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 in 2023 which was a blockbuster hit of that year.
While Gadar narrated the love story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakina (Ameesha Patel), Gadar 2 is a tale of hatred between India and Pakistan that refuses to die down, told from the lens of a father’s bond with his son.
When the possibility of war is getting closer, Lieutenant Colonel Devendra Rawat asks Tara for help. He needs her to send trucks with ammunition to the border to support the Indian soldiers. Tara agrees to help, but things take a turn for the worse when she and six other soldiers go missing. It turns out they have been captured by a Pakistani Major General who is seeking revenge for the deaths of 40 members of his battalion that Tara was responsible for during a battle.
The film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Gadar 2 minted ₹686 crore worldwide, ₹525.7 crore nett and ₹620.5 crore gross in India.

Esha hasn’t told us about her next movie yet. But she produced a short film called Ek Duaa which won an award at the 69th National Film Awards!
The story is about Abida. Abida comes from a family which sidelines a girl child, and her daughter Dua feels left out as her father supports her brother but not her.
