Police have now detained Ajay Gupta after they issued a lookout circular over the nightclub fire that killed 25 people.
A Look Out Circular (LOC) had been issued against Ajay Gupta and another person identified as Surinder Kumar Khosla. Meanwhile, as earlier reported, the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub owners, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, fled to Thailand on Sunday morning.

Ajay Gupta is an alleged partner of the Luthra brothers and the owners of the Goal nightclub that saw a fire tragedy, killing 25 people, as reported by the PTI news agency. A Look Out Order (LOC) had been issued against him and one more person named Surinder Kumar Khosla, said a senior police officer earlier today. Both Gupta and Khosla, a British citizen, came under police scanner hours after the Luthra brothers and owners of the Goa nightclubfled to Thailand. The fire tragedy happened at the nightclub on Saturday, leading to the deaths of 25 people, mostly staff members and a family.

Police have thus far arrested five persons in the case, including the nightclub’s chief general manager, Rajiv Modak; general manager Vivek Singh; bar manager Rajiv Singhania; gate manager Riyanshu Thakur; and Bharat Kohli. The owner fled the country merely five hours after the fire at their nightclub in Arpora village of Goa. On Sunday, the police received the first alert regarding the fire at the nightclub at 12.04 am. After the fire, the owners of the club, the Luthra brothers, prominent Delhi businessmen, boarded a flight from New Delhi to Phuket, Thailand, at 5.30 am on Sunday.
A lookout notice against the Luthra brothers, issued by the Bureau of Immigration (BoI) on Sunday evening, had already been issued.
