The sequel of the post-apocalyptic film, which has become a massive success worldwide, will also be directed by Nag Ashwin.
One of the highest grossers at the Indian box office in 2024 so far has been Kalki 2898 AD, a post-apocalyptic film featuring mega stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and others. Fans have eagerly awaited the film’s sequel, which they speculate will feature more of Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas. The film producers have now said that with the sequel, “there’s a lot more excitement than nervousness.”
When will the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD go on floors?
Producers of the film Kalki 2898 AD Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies revealed that the sequel will go on floors in 2025. As per reports on News18, the shooting of the sequel of Kalki 2898 AD will begin next year. At the Moscow International Film Week, the producers said, “There’s a lot more excitement than nervousness.” Priyanka Dutt said, “The filming will start in the next five or six months (January or February 2025). Once it starts, we’ll be able to talk more about it.”

Swapna Dutt said, “This time around, there’s a lot more excitement than nervousness. I think there will be a lot more planning now. Whatever we did for part one, we were all just going by Nag Ashwin’s vision. It often happens that you don’t understand most of the things until you actually see the visuals. Now that we’ve seen everything that Nagi has done and understood the way the audience has received it, we’re going on to part two with an altogether different energy.”
Part 2 of Kalki 2898 AD will also be directed by Nag Ashwin. The film emerged as one of the biggest hits in 2024, earning over Rs. 1100 crore worldwide.
