Divyenndu Sharma, aka Munna Bhaiya, teased his return to the film version of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series.
The first season of Mirzapur, a series on Amazon Prime Video, was released in 2018, and the second season was released in October 2020. The third season was released on the OTT platform in July 2024. However, fans of the Mirzapur series have a reason to rejoice, as it will now be made into a film version.

Months after Mirzapur season 3 was released on Amazon Prime Video, the makers announced Mirzapur: The Film. On Monday, taking to X, Prime Video India shared a video featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, and Divyenndu Sharma.
Mirzapur: The Film teases the return of “Munna Bhaiya,” played by Divyenndu.
The 1.30-minute-long video of the film version of the Amazon Prime Video series has teased the return of the character of Munna Tripathi, played by Divyenndu. His character was killed off in the second season. Divyenndu said in Hindi, “I’m a Hindi film hero. A Hindi film is best enjoyed in a theatre. Need I remind you, I’m immortal.” He captioned the video, “Diwali pe sabko mithai milti hai, lekin yeh lo, Mirzapur ki asli barfi (Everyone gets sweets on Diwali but here is the real dessert of Mirzapur).”

Mirzapur: The Film will be created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh. It is scheduled for release in 2026 and will mark the return of Pankaj Tripathi (Kaleen Bhaiya), Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit), and Divyenndu (Munna Bhaiya), along with Abhishek Banerjee, who plays a compounder in the series.
Following the nationwide theatrical release, the film will be available for streaming to Prime Video members in India over 240 countries and territories eight weeks after its release.
