What attracted the trolls was that she posted the message hailing their contribution to cricket after two months of Team India winning the T20 World Cup.

Her post came after more than two months of India winning the T20 World Cup. On June 29, India won the T20 World Cup, beating South Africa by 7 runs in Barbados. After the match, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their T20I retirement. This served as a very emotional moment for the cricket fraternity and all the fans worldwide, who immediately bid farewell to these legendary cricketers on social media. However, Nida Dar has taken more than two months to do that, which has called for flak from netizens, amongst a few hilarious comments.

For some strange reason, the Pakistan women’s team captain, a veteran of 112 ODIs and 153 T20Is, dropped her tweet on Wednesday, September 4, on India’s T20 World Cup win and the T20I retirement of Rohit and Kohli. Her post had photos of Rohit and Kohli smiling with the T20 World Cup trophy and one more photo of the then-head coach, Rahul Dravid. She wrote, “Congrats to India on winning the @T20WorldCup 2024! 🏆A special shoutout to @ImRo45 @imVkohli for their immense contributions to world cricket. Your leadership, skill, and dedication have inspired millions around the world. Happy retirement, legends! And head coach Rahul Dravid.”

Needless to say, her post was severely trolled, inspiring several memes as well.
