The entire Hindi film industry is mourning the death of the ‘he-man’ of Bollywood, the legendary Dharmendra. After days of being unwell at his home, the actor died at the age of 89.

On Monday, veteran Bollywood star Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89, days before his birthday on December 8. Prime Minister NarendraModi also expressed grief at the passing of the legend. Talking to X, PM Modi said that the actor’s death marked the end of an era for Indian cinema. He wrote, “The passing of DharmendraJi marks the end of an era in Indian cinema. He was an iconic film personality, a phenomenal actor who brought charm and depth to every role he played. The manner in which he played diverse roles struck a chord with countless people. DharmendraJi was equally admired for his simplicity, humility and warmth. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family, friends and innumerable fans. Om Shanti.”
Celebrities and family members spotted outside the crematorium.
As soon as the news of the sad demise of the veteran star spread, many celebrities and family members were seen arriving at a crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. His second wife, actress HemaMalini, and their daughter EshaDeol were spotted by the media on Monday afternoon outside the crematorium. This came two weeks after the family brought Dharmendra back home from the hospital, where he was admitted due to ill health. Many other celebs were also spotted, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Salim Khan, and many others.
Dharmendra had an incredible journey in Bollywood spread across six decades. He began his career with DilBhiTera Hum BhiTere in 1960 at the age of 24, but shot to fame in 1965 with the film Haqeeqat.
