The three fans invaded the pitch all at once to meet the cricketing star, which led to a long stoppage at Ranji.

There are many fans and admirers of Virat Kohli, aka King Kohli, across the world. They show their love for him through cheers and hooting on the grounds and even sometimes invading the pitch. In one such incident recently, during Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy match in Delhi, three fans invaded the pitch to showcase their crazy love for Kohli.

Virat Kohli may have failed to make his mark in the 1st innings of the Ranji Trophy match against Railways, but his ardent fan following continued to fill the stands at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Day 3. As Delhi came out to the field in the second innings, the numbers began to rise in the stands, leading to a breach of security yet again. During the 1st innings, a fan entered the ground to touch Kohli’s feet in the same match. However, three fans on Saturday managed to breach security at once, sprinting the length of the ground to meet their idol. A host of police personnel, including the in-ground security, escorted the pitch invaders out. The incident happened two overs before lunch, which caused the play to halt.

Thousands of fans had gathered to watch the Indian batting great in action during the second day’s play, eager to witness the greatness of Kohli on the field. Instead, they saw a brief but eventful stay at the crease. There were loud chants for Kohli, amidst which the cricketer cautiously survived a few nervy moments before unleashing a trademark straight drive off pacer Himanshu Sangwan that sent the crowd into raptures.
