Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akthar’s Don 3 Dispute

The recent turbulence surrounding Don 3 has underscored how professional disagreements in Bollywood often spill into personal relationships and public solidarity. Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from the film sparked a demand from Excel Entertainment for compensation and led the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to issue a non-cooperation directive. However, the directive was later revoked, thanks in part to strong opposition from within the industry.

Poonam Dhillon, actress and President of the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), openly criticized FWICE’s move, saying that actors have full rights to choose their own projects and such punitive measures lacked credibility. This stance and strong words spoken by Poonam Dhillon caught Jagjit Singh Bhavnani’s attention. Dhillon revealed that they had a detailed conversation and continued to correspond on WhatsApp, with Bhavnani expressing gratitude for the solidarity shown by fellow artistes.

Ranveer’s father mentioned that Ranveer still continous to share a professional bond with Excel entertainment as he has worked for the production in movies l;ike Gully Boy and Dil Dhadakne Do.

Mr. Bhavnani also highlighted his close relationship with Farhan Akhtar and the Excel team, clarifying that there was no animosity despite the dispute. According to Dhillon, the family was more disappointed with FWICE’s handling of the matter than with the production house itself.

Poonam Dhillon reiterated that CINTAA’s role is to safeguard actors from unfair directives and mentioned that such disputes should be resolved through dialogue rather than punitive actions. Industry associations must stand by artistes in such situations.

With the FWICE now withdrawing its directive, the Ranveer-Farhan controversy finally appears to be moving toward resolution.
