RashmikaMandanna celebrated Kodava heritage at her reception with Vijay Deverakonda

Fans and followers since the wedding of RashmikaMandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been commenting on why Rashmika didn’t post pictures of the Kodava wedding rituals and only the Telugu rituals. They wanted to see what the couple wore for the Kodava wedding customs. Rashmika finally celebrated the rich Kodava heritage at her wedding reception with Vijay.

Rashmika looked stunning, celebrating rich Kodava heritage in a beautiful Mysore silk saree and exuding cultural swag. For her reception, she chose a custom red Mysore silk saree from Jade by Monica and Karishma, and was styled by celebrity stylist Ami Patel, and the fashion and pop culture-based Instagram page Diet Sabya posted on Instagram. Posting pictures and details, Diet Sabya highlighted how the saree featured a heavy black and gold border, but the true soul of the garment lay in the gandaberunda motif, the sovereign two-headed bird emblem of the Wadiyars of Mysore. This sacred symbol was meticulously hand-embroidered onto the saree, representing the strength and history of Karnataka.

Social media users shared that the ensemble featured iconography of the pichkathi (traditional dagger), odikathi (war sword), and traditional gun. These symbols, central to Kodava culture and their history as a warrior community, were elegantly integrated into the design, earning Rashmika praise for bringing her Coorgi heritage to the national stage. Accessorising her reception look, Rashmika chose a peacock-fountain necklace, a hataphool, long gold earrings, and kadas.

Complementing Rashmika’s vibrant red saree, Vijay opted for a white silk veshti and shirt ensemble, a quintessential South Indian silhouette. The shirt had a V-neck, and a simple silver-toned chain added a touch of modern masculinity to the traditional attire.
