Ratan Tata adopted Tito 5-6 years ago after his previous dog of the same name passed away.

The whole of India and the world mourned Ratan Tata’s death on October 9. The former chairperson of the Tata Group, a philanthropist and a compassionate soul, adopted his dog Tito five or six years ago after the passing of his previous dog of the same name. The industrialist mentioned his German Shepherd Tito in his will, asking for “ultimate care” for his beloved pet, as per a report in The Times of India.

The industrialist and philanthropist, whose estate is estimated at over ₹10,000 crores, left behind his assets for his half-sisters Shireen and Deanna Jejeebhoy, house staff, and others. However, he also mentioned his beloved pet, Tito, in his will. Tito was adopted by him 5-6 years ago and shares the name of Ratan Tata’s previous dog. He will be cared for by Ratan Tata’s longtime cook, Rajan Shaw. The will also makes provisions for Ratan Tata’s butler, Subaiah, with whom he had a three-decade-long relationship. The philanthropist was also known for buying Rajan and Subaiah designer clothes after his trips abroad.

Ratan Tata also mentions his executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu.

In his will, Ratan Tata has also mentioned his mentee and executive assistant, Shantanu Naidu. He relinquished his stake in Naidu’s companionship venture, Goodfellows, and also waived his education loans, as per a report in The Times of India.

As per tradition, Ratan Tata’s stake in Tata Sons will be transferred to a charitable trust, the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF).
