Police stated that a school manager and four others sacrificed a boy for the growth and prosperity of the school.

A shocking incident of how superstition is still prevalent in India has made the headlines, where a school boy was “sacrificed” by the school manager and four others who did this for the school’s growth and prosperity, the report suggests. Investigators have cited the post-mortem report and said it showed the boy was strangulated even as the school authorities claimed that he died due to illness.

The manager of a school in UP’s Hathras sacrifices a school boy.

The manager of a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras allegedly sacrificed a school boy of 11 years with the help of four others as he believed that the sacrifice would help the educational institute’s growth and bring his family prosperity, said investigators on Friday. Ashok Kumar Singh, additional police superintendent, said the school manager, Dinesh Baghel, his father, Jasodan Singh, principal Laxman Singh, and teachers Ram Prakash Solanki and Veerpal have been arrested.

What does the post-mortem report suggest?

Investigators said that the post-mortem showed the boy was strangulated even though the school authorities initially claimed that he died due to illness. They cited the probe and said the father of the school manager, Jasodan Singh, and the school manager, Dinesh Baghel, practiced the occult and eventually confessed to sacrificing the boy.

How it happened?

The investigators said that the boy, who lived in the school hostel, was asleep when a teacher, Ram Prakash Solanki, allegedly picked him up and took him to a forest to sacrifice. Teacher Veerpal and principal Laxman Singh kept a watch to ensure the sacrifice was carried out as the child cried for help. The accused kept the boy’s body in Baghel’s car after strangulating him and looked for a place to dump it. The boy’s father was told that his son was unwell and had been taken to a doctor. The boy’s family somehow tracked Baghel’s car at Sadabad and recovered the dead body of the boy on September 23.

Investigators said that the boy was brutally killed, and his collarbone was broken. His hair was also cut from one side as part of the “sacrifice ritual.”
