A former NCB official expressed his frustration at Aryan Khan’s show, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, allegedly ridiculing him.
Sameer Wankhede, a former NCB official, in the latest hearing of his defamation case against Shah Rukh Khan’s son and debutant director Aryan Khan and his show The Ba***ds of Bollywood, says he doesn’t deserve this.
Sameer Wankhede says he receives mockery and public ridicule.
Sameer Wankhede spoke about receiving mockery and public ridicule since the release of Aryan Khan-directed The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Wankhede expressed his frustration over Aryan Khan’s Netflix show, which he alleged ridicules him. During a hearing of the defamation case against Aryan and the show, the IRS officer asked the court, “Do I deserve this trial in public opinion?” Wankhede has alleged that by basing a character on him, the show has mocked him and left him open to ridicule on social media.
Sameer Wankhede stated that the show has questioned his integrity.
On Monday, the Delhi High Court resumed the hearing in Wankhede’s plea against Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix, the producer and streaming platform of the show, respectively. Wankhede’s lawyer cited a tweet review by self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) to demonstrate the threats and mockery directed at him after the show aired. “The show has convinced people that I have no integrity. Chor, and what else?” Wankhede’s lawyer said. He even contended that they deserved liability and blame as well. “Red chillies and Netflix are in cahoots with each other. They are not saying we are just an intermediary, so a certain degree of liability is on Netflix as well.” The defendants argued that the CBI and ED enquiries had no relation to the show and weren’t Red Chillies’ creation. Senior Advocate Kaul argued that the case involved the show’s creator, Aryan Khan, and not the production house or the streamer.
Aryan Khan in 2021 was famously arrested by Sameer Wankhede, when he was with the Narcotics Control Bureau, but later all charges against him were dropped.
