Marvel’s latest release races past ₹10,925 crore in six days, setting new benchmarks in India and abroad
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, has taken the global box office by storm, rewriting records within its first week of release. In just six days, the film has collected an astonishing ₹10,925 crore worldwide, making it the second-fastest movie in history to cross the $1 billion milestone. Only Avengers: Endgame achieved this feat faster, reaching the mark in five days.
In India, the film has already grossed ₹362.61 crore, with net collections standing at ₹303.25 crore. Day 6 alone contributed ₹21.50 crore nett, led by the English version at ₹11.50 crore and the Hindi-dubbed release at ₹8 crore, surprising many with its 82% occupancy across mass markets. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions added smaller but steady contributions, reflecting the film’s wide appeal.
The extended opening weekend brought in ₹257.95 crore nett, and weekday collections have remained strong. Monday’s ₹23.80 crore was followed by Tuesday’s ₹21.50 crore, showing only a 9.7% drop- an exceptional trend for a Hollywood release in India. With this momentum, the film is expected to cross the ₹400-crore gross milestone domestically within days.
Globally, Brand New Day has outpaced several iconic blockbusters. While Infinity War took 11 days to cross $1 billion and No Way Home took 12, Brand New Day did so in 6. This places it among the fastest earners in cinematic history, alongside Endgame, Ne Zha 2, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Closer to home, the film is now eyeing records set by Avatar: The Way of Water (₹483 crore gross) and Avengers: Endgame (₹438 crore gross). With ₹362.61 crore already in the bank, surpassing both seems well within reach. Industry experts believe it could also become the highest-grossing Spider-Man film ever, overtaking No Way Home.
The extraordinary global momentum has sparked speculation that Brand New Day may even cross the $2 billion threshold, a milestone no Spider-Man film has ever achieved. If successful, it would cement its place among the greatest box office triumphs in history.
With strong overseas markets, record-breaking Indian collections, and sustained audience enthusiasm, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not just a blockbuster- it is a cultural phenomenon redefining the limits of superhero cinema.
