Social media users outpour support for the man who has been facing workplace humiliation.
A post has been widely shared on social media involving a son who pleads for support for his 65-year-old father, who has been facing workplace humiliation. The physics teacher, an IIT graduate with 30 years of experience, has been daily facing disrespect at his workplace, which led to his son on social media asking to support his father.
An emotional Reddit post struck a chord with netizens.
A young man shared the heart-breaking struggles of his 65-year-old father at his workplace. His father is a physics teacher enduring constant humiliation at his workplace. The post has sparked widespread discussions about the mistreatment of senior educators in private schools. The son described his father as a dedicated teacher with an MSc from IIT Kharagpur and over three decades of experience. He wrote, “His only wish is to be respected, which apparently is too much to ask for in private schools.” He then recalled a particularly distressing moment when his father broke down in tears, “He said he cannot take it anymore,” the son wrote in the post. Having lost his mother just a year ago, the young man expressed his overwhelming fear of losing his father, too. He wrote, “I cannot afford to lose him. He’s the only parent I have left. He’s my whole world.”
Financial hardships have forced the son to put his education on hold.
Their financial struggles forced the young son to put his education on hold and take freelance writing to support their household, but it was not enough. He also revealed other struggles of his father’s life, where his own family abandoned him. Still, he fought against all odds to educate himself and build a career. The son asked the online community for help and wrote, “If you guys need a physics teacher, my dad would love to teach. He can teach both school and college students. I’ve been teaching him how to take online classes, and he would really appreciate it.”
