The video shared on social media platforms claimed that the family was “cruising at 100+ kmph with kids in the boot holding on to dear life in Hyderabad. In the now-viral video, the person recording could be heard gasping in disbelief as he noticed a moving car with its rear hatch left open while speeding along the road at night. As the camera zoomed in, several children could be seen precariously inside the open boot space of the vehicle, squeezed together and seemingly clinging to the sides as the car continued moving at speed. The person filming was visibly stunned by the sight and reacted audibly in shock as the vehicle drove on the highway. The footage showed the car navigating the road while the children remained exposed in the rear compartment, with no visible restraints or safety measures in place. The video has sparked outrage online with several users calling out the dangerous act and questioning how anyone could allow children to travel in such risky conditions.
Reacting to the viral video, Cyberabad Traffic Police issued a statement under the post. It read, “Sir, the issue has been noted and will be verified. Carrying passengers, especially children, in the boot area of a moving vehicle is highly dangerous and puts lives at serious risk. Necessary action will be taken as per traffic and road safety regulations. We urge all motorists to prioritise safety and travel responsibly.”
