Recently, a moment by a content creator mispronouncing a word went viral on the internet, sparking hilarious memes, posts and reels. The now-famous “Prashant” meme emerged when Ayush, a content creator, made a simple language learning mishap, spiralling into a full-fledged internet sensation.
Croissant or “Prashant”?
The content creator is known for his split-screen videos, where he learns English words through tutorials. However, unknowingly, this time, he kick-started a trend. He was learning dessert names in English in one of his videos, which has now garnered over 17 million views so far. The AI voice in the tutorial showed a picture of a croissant and asked, “What is this called?” Ayush confidently replied, “Patties.” The AI voice says, “Croissant.” However, Ayush misheard it and exclaimed in surprise, “Prashant?” Since then, the internet hasn’t stopped laughing.

The clip so far has garnered over 1 million shares and has inspired endless memes. Brands also jumped on the trend with Swiggy posting a picture of a croissant on X with the caption, “Tum Prashant bologe, hum croissant samajh lenge.” Britannia joined the viral trend and shared a video on Instagram featuring their product, Treat Croissant, where they hilariously edited the packaging by removing the word “Croissant” and renaming it “Prashant.” Actress Diana Pentyrecreated the video, and in her clip, she was seen eating a croissant with the text overlay reading, “Croissant cancelled, Prashant.”
